¡Toma castaña!

La castaña, uno de los símbolos del otoño, es el fruto comestible del castaño, árbol del género Castanea propio de climas templados del hemisferio norte. El fruto se presenta en una cápsula espinosa que tiene entre 5 y 11 centímetros de diámetro que consta de 2 a 7 castañas.

The chestnut, one of the symbols of autumn, is an edible fruit produced by trees of the genus Castanea native to northern temperate regions. The fruit is enclosed in a prickly husk between 4 and 11 centimetres in size which contains from 2 to 7 nuts.

Castaño es el color propio de la cáscara de la castaña y es sinónimo del galicismo marrón.

Castaño is a brownish colour, as in the skin of a chestnut, and in Spanish it is a synonym of the gallicism 'marrón'.

Otoño

Tradicionalmente el otoño es la tercera estación del año. Es la época de la caída de la hoja y de que los colores ocres, sienas, naranjas y rojizos dominen el paisaje... El otoño también es sinónimo de vuelta al cole y para muchos, al igual que en Año Nuevo, del inicio de un nuevo ciclo, nuevos planes y propósitos: dejar de fumar, volver a estudiar un idioma extranjero, apuntarse a un gimnasio.
